Three individuals were arrested last night in connection to the ongoing investigation into last week’s homicide of Aaron Gant Jr. in New Bedford.

Chad Santos, 25; Kathleen Rivera, 24; and Lorena Rivera, 21, all of New Bedford, were each charged with the obstruction of justice portion of the state’s witness intimidation statute. All three defendants were arrested at the New Bedford Police Station last night after being questioned by investigators probing the December 31st shooting death of Mr. Gant.

The three defendants are scheduled to be arraigned this morning in New Bedford District Court by Deputy Chief of the district attorney’s Homicide Unit, Assistant District Attorney Katie Rayburn, who has been coordinating the investigation into the homicide.

As the homicide investigation remains extremely active and ongoing, no further information will be released at this time.
