Homicide Investigation Underway in New Bedford

New Bedford Police, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to this office and Homicide Unit prosecutors are actively investigating a homicide, which occurred in the City of New Bedford late Sunday night.

At around 10:41 last night, New Bedford Police received a 911 call regarding a man being stabbed outside of 357 Ashley Boulevard.  When first responders arrived they found the victim, a 22-year-old New Bedford man, bleeding profusely. The victim was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, where he died from his injuries around 11:40 pm.

The victim is not being identified at this time because next of kin has yet to be located and notified. When next of kin notification is made, this office will send out a follow up advisory to identify the victim and provide any further updates.

The investigation is extremely active presently, and no further information can be released at this time.
