Taunton Boat Crash Victims Identified

The individuals involved in a fatal boat collision Saturday afternoon on Watson Pond in Taunton can now be publicly identified.
The deceased victim of the incident has been identified as Mark Greene, 39, of Moultonborough, New Hampshire.
A second boater, Stephen Joy, 67, of Bangor, Maine, remains hospitalized in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.
The third boater involved in the collision, Alex Poliakoff, 72, of Richmond, Maine sustained minor injuries and is not hospitalized.
Three hydroplane vessels competing in the Bill Giles Memorial Regatta collided on Watson Pond around 1 p.m. Saturday. All three boat drivers were ejected into the water due to the impact of the collision. Members of the Taunton Fire Department’s Dive Team were on scene at the time of the incident and were quickly able to pull all three individuals from the water.
No foul play is suspected at this time.
The investigation is being conducted by Massachusetts State Police and Massachusetts Environmental Police.
