Our office has filed a criminal complaint in Attleboro District Court this morning, charging William O’Brien, 22, of Manchester-By-The-Sea, with murder.

The defendant, who was already in custody on charged of Carrying an Illegal Firearm and Carrying a Loaded Illegal Firearm, will be formally arraigned on these charges later today in Attleboro District Court.

Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office, Homicide Unit prosecutors and Mansfield Police continue to investigate the Saturday morning homicide.

The Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call Saturday at 11:11 am reporting a shooting at 42 West Church Street.  When first responders arrived on scene, they located Samuel P. Waters, 23, of Mansfield, who was already deceased.
