Fall River Police, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office and Homicide Unit prosecutors are actively investigating a homicide, which occurred in the City of Fall River Tuesday night.

At around 5:30 pm Tuesday, Fall River Police received a 911 call regarding the location of a deceased male in a wooded area behind the Gold Medal Bakery own Bay Street in Fall River.  When police and paramedics arrived on scene, they located the deceased, later identified as Gary Werra, 39, of Fall River, in the wooded area.

As the defendant has yet to be arraigned in open court, no further information about the facts of the case can be released today.
