Lt. Gov. Polito to Swear In DA Quinn and Prosecutors During Thursday Ceremony at BCC

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III will be sworn in by Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito for a new four year term in office this Thursday, January 31 at 4:30 p.m.


The swearing-in ceremony will take place in the Margaret L. Jackson Arts Center at Bristol Community College, 777 Elsbree Street, Fall River.


In addition to administering the oath of office to District Attorney Quinn, Lt. Gov. Polito will also swear in 70 of the office’s assistant district attorneys during the event.


The ceremony will include remarks from both District Attorney Quinn and Lt. Gov. Polito. The Invocation will be given by Fall River Fire Department Chaplain,  Fr. Michael Racine, of the St. Bernard’s Parish in Assonet and the Benediction will be performed by Rev. James M. Fitzpatrick of Saint Louis de France Parish of Swansea.


A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.


All media and members of the public are invited to attend.


District Attorney Quinn, who resides in Fall River with his wife and family, was first appointed by the governor to the position of District Attorney in early 2015 after the resignation of former District Attorney C. Samuel Sutter. District Attorney Quinn then won election in 2016 to serve the remainder of the four year term he was appointed to in 2015. In 2018, District Attorney Quinn won re-election and will now serve a full four year term.
