Homicide Investigation in Fall River

Fall River Police, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to this office and Homicide Unit prosecutors are actively investigating a homicide, which occurred in Fall River Friday night.

Fall River Police received 911 calls regarding gunshots in the area of Whipple and Osborne streets around 7:45 pm. Upon arrival at the scene, police found the male victim on the street at the intersection of Osborne and Ridge streets. The victim, who was later identified as Anthony Carvalho, 20, of Fall River, was rushed to nearby St. Anne’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 9 pm.

The investigation remains extremely active and ongoing. No further information can be released at this time.
