A 28-year-old New Bedford man connected to the Sunday morning car crash that claimed the life of 18-year-old Masyn Bleheen was arrested today and will be arraigned this afternoon in New Bedford District Court.
Jeremia Medina was arrested without incident in New Bedford today on a single charge of leaving the scene of personal injury. Mr. Medina was the alleged driver of a Lexus, when he lost control of the vehicle on Nauset Street, struck two jersey barriers, spun out and came to rest in the middle of the street. The vehicle then caught on fire. Mr. Bleheen, who was in the passenger seat of the Lexus at the time of the crash, was pulled from the burning car by nearby residents and was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital before dying around 2:37 am Sunday.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Sean Guilderson. More details on the case and the crash will be discussed in open court during this afternoon’s arraignment.
