Fall River Woman Indicted for Stealing More Than $120,000 from Elderly Woman She Provided Care For To Be Arraigned Tomorrow

A 60-year-old Fall River woman will be arraigned in Fall River Superior Court tomorrow for allegedly stealing more than $120,000 from a 92-year-old woman she provided in home care for, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.

Kathleen King was indicted last week by a Bristol County Grand Jury on a single count of larceny over $250 from a person 60 years of age or older.

The indictment was the result of an extensive investigation and grand jury presentation by Assistant District Attorneys Michael Scott and Aaron Strojny.

It is alleged that the defendant assisted the elderly Fall River woman with cooking, cleaning, shopping and other household tasks. In 2013, after gaining the victim’s trust, the defendant is accused of withdrawing more than $120,000 from the victim’s checking and savings accounts.

The matter was referred to District Attorney Quinn’s Elder Abuse and Elder Financial Fraud Unit, which led to the indictment.

No further information about the facts of the case can be released prior to the defendant’s arraignment in open court tomorrow.
