A 54-year-old Freetown man will be arraigned today in Fall River District Court connected to a homicide that occurred in that town early this morning, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.

At 4:24 am today, Freetown Police were called to 92 Chace Road in East Freetown.  When first responders arrived on scene, they located a deceased female homicide victim later identified as Heidi Chace, 44, of that address. 

After some investigation, the suspect was determined to be Matthew Lucas, who also resided at that address with the victim.  At about 8:40 this morning, state and local police located the suspect hiding in a shed on Burns Lane in Freetown.

The defendant is being charged this morning with Murder.  He will be arraigned at some point later this morning or early this afternoon in Fall River District Court.
