Fall River Drug Dealer With Illegal Stolen Gun Sentenced to Prison
Press Release
A 36-year-old Fall River cocaine dealer caught in possession of an out of state stolen firearm last March was sentenced to serve three year in state prison on Tuesday, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.
Tony Almond pleaded guilty in Fall River Superior Court to indictments charging him with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
On March 7, 2019, Fall River Police detectives executed a search warrant at the defendant’s Ford Street apartment after conducting a “controlled buy.”
The defendant had two grams of crack cocaine, which he threw when officers came into the apartment.
Fall River Police found three digital scale and drug cutting agents inside the apartment. Police also located a loaded .380 caliber pistol under the defendant’s mattress. The pistol was reported stolen from DeKalb County in Georgia.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Michael Cahillane and the state prison sentence was imposed by Judge William Sullivan.
“The possession of an illegal firearm while dealing drugs is a dangerous combination that contributes to the violence and drug addiction in our communities,” District Attorney Quinn said.
