Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced that a local drifter who broke into a Raynham home last year was sentenced to serve six to 10 years in state prison Monday in Fall River Superior Court.
John Mann, 54, with no known address, pleaded guilty to charges of breaking and entering during the day time to commit a felony–habitual offender, and larceny from a building-baitual offender. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Erin Aiello and the sentence was handed down by Superior Court Judge Gregg Pasquale.
On May 19th 2015 a woman who lives on South Main Street in Raynham saw the defendant kick down her neighbor’s door. The woman called 911 with a description of the defendant. The defendant was stopped by Lt. Carr near the home he broke into. Police found cash and jewelry on the defendant.
“This defendant is a career criminal who has spent a good part of his life repeatedly committing crimes against society,” said District Attorney Quinn. “He has more than earned this lengthy prison sentence that will keep him locked up for up to 10 years.”
