On Wednesday, November 18th, 2015, The Taunton Opiate Task Force partnered with the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office of Thomas M. Quinn III, Taunton High Schools Students Against Destructive Decisions, and Taunton Police Department to participate in a “sticker shock” event. The purpose of the event was to engage the public by discouraging the purchasing of alcohol for minors. On the week of their homecoming, Taunton High School students, along with Matthew Digiantommaso (Victim Witness Advocate at the DA’s office), Stephanie Littlefield (Taunton High School advisor/SADD group leader), and Officer Rutherford (Taunton High School Resource Officer), went to three local liquor stores and placed stickers on cases of beer which stated “21 or bust – providing alcohol to an individual under the age of 21 is illegal”. They also placed stickers on freezer doors and areas noticeable for customers so that they would see the message. This was done with the co-operation of Globe Liquors, Taunton Wine and Liquors, and Regal Liquor and Food Mart.
